Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

Seeks to change ones thinking patterns in order to change one's behavior. CBT places emphasis on teaching skills through assignments in and outside of therapy to build coping skills to resolve one's own problems .

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a type of psychotherapy that uses the following : mindfulness (skill building that helps you stay in the present). Distress tolerance (teaches self acceptance.) Interpersonal Effectiveness (helps you become more assertive in any relationship). Emotional Regulation (teaches skills to help you deal with intense emotions.

Trauma Treatment Therapy

Seeks to help the individual understand how traumatic experiences affect our, mental and emotional and physical wellbeing. Sessions focus on helping the individual accept the reality of the trauma, to regain personal power, self-esteem and provide soothing techniques.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR)

EMDR is a therapy originally created to heal people experiencing symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress disorder. The goal of EMDR is to rapidly transform negative thoughts from past experiences and transform them into something useful. This is done by using an eight-phase treatment approach. Focus is given to past disturbing memories and related events. Focus is also given to current situations that cause distress, to developing the skills and beliefs needed for positive future change. Rapid eye movement techniques are conducted in order to achieve this.
